COURSES IN FIRE
SERVICE
Seats: There are a total of 24
seats (12 for each course including 2 seats reserved for SC/ST candidates).
The
Entrance Examination is held for one day only during September at Mumbai, Calcutta,
Chennai, New Delhi and Nagpur Centres. The exact Venue and the time of examination is
intimated individually to eligible candidates by post. The examination is conducted in two
sessions on the same day covering General English and General Knowledge in the First
session and General Science and Mathematics in the second Session. The question paper is
printed bilingually (Hindi and English) and the same can be answered by the candidates in
either Hindi or English. The duration of each Sub-Officers Course is 25 weeks of which 21
weeks will be conducted at the college and 8 to 9 weeks as honorary extended period of
practical attachment at major fire stations in the country at the discretion of the
college. The question paper is objective type and of the level of Higher Secondary (10+2).
Eligibility:
(a)
Educational Qualifications: Minimum H.S.S.C (10+2) or its equivalent
qualifications preferably with Science subjects. Candidates must be able to read, write,
speak and comprehend instructions, both in Hindi and English.
(b)
Age: Candidates applying for All India Entrance Examination should be between
18 to 23 years of age as on 1st January. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 28
years for SC/ST candidates. Upper age limit for candidates serving in the recognised Fire
Services is 27 years ( Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates). Candidates are required
to produce relevant documents as proof of Caste for obtaining
age relaxation.
(c)
Physical Standards: (i) Height: Not less than 165 cms. (160 cms for candidates
belonging to hilly regions such as Gurkhas, Garhwalis, Assamese, Nagal and tribes etc.
(ii) Weight: Not less than 50 kgs. (iii) Chest: Not less than 81 cms. Normal
with minimum expansion of 5 cms.
(d)
Medical Examination: Candidates selected for the Sub-officers course based on
the overall merit list are medically examined by the college Medical Officer. All those
found medically unfit are not granted admission.
Last date: July. In service candidates should
apply through proper channels. Candidates serving in recognised Fire Services will have to
undergo their training at their own expense, provided they are selected in all respects.
Grant of Admission: Admission is granted based on
the overall order of merit on the basis of written examinations. Results will be Communicated
Individually to the selected candidates only by post.

Stations.
Eligibility: Matric with Science (Phy, Chem).
Physical Standard: Height 5.7, Weight 54 Kg. No relaxation whatsoever. Chest
32-34, Eye Sight 6/6, Age: between
17 to 30 years. Candidates must be Stout enough knowing swimming. Last date: September.
